I started this blog as a school assignment. I spent a great deal of my life working in pension administration but have wanted to be a librarian since I was six. Summer of 2016, I began my first class in pursuit of my MLS. And I loved it. Received my MLS in August of 2018 and it hangs on the wall next to my Middle School award. My first library job was a Youth Services Manager. I loved the kids; I loved helping the kids. Like has happened with many people in the last two years, Covid became too much. Not agreeing with the Board on the safety measures we were taking (or not taking) and worrying 24/7 that I could not keep my staff and the kids safe, finally took a toll.
May 2020, I became a librarian in a local history room. Genealogy was a shared love with my uncle and I. Not to mention, I have always enjoyed researching things. It has been a good fit. With that in mind, I am returning to my blog in 2022 with a bit of a new focus. 2019 was the year of random idea posts. 2022, I am going to focus on documenting family history, stories, still random, but more of a focus and with writing prompts.
Since 2019, my brother and father have died. This leaves me to sole member of my initial family. I have no one to say, hey remember the time or what WAS that person’s name? Thus I want to focus this year on recording what I do remember and I challenge you to do the same.
